*Vasse was once the most important person alive. He developed the Safeguard vaccine during the Onset — the intervention credited with saving what remained of humanity inside the domes. Then he was expelled from Valerius Global, and the decades between that expulsion and the present are a record no official archive will confirm. What is known: he built his own laboratories outside sanctioned jurisdiction. The clinical language he uses for all of it — subjects, recovery windows, bio-mechanisms — is not detachment. It is the vocabulary of a man who resolved the ethical question long ago and has not revisited it since. He is brilliant, meticulous, and entirely without remainder.
