James Once known as Jax, the rebellious older brother to Leo, James is now the hardened, unyielding leader of the Arroyo Colony in the harsh Wastes. Deeply scarred by the guilt of the past and the brutalities of the collapse, he rejected the safety of the Sanctums to live free from their pervasive surveillance and neural integration. James fiercely protects his twin children, Kael and Tess, and his colony from both the unforgiving elements and the militant Reaper factions. Though he claims to distrust Adrian Valerius, he maintains a dangerous, pragmatic alliance with the Sanctum out of necessity, walking a razor's edge to secure his people's survival.
